Will check to make sure. Why?
Just trying to understand more about IB, IB Pied, Dark Pied, Pied and split to white. Wish someone with color experience could explain this to me.

When does Black Shoulder genetics play a part in the white color?
Blackshoulder is a pattern (solid wing-nobarring unlike in Indiablue) and is recessive to Indiablue which means that a peafowl need to carry two copies of blackshoulder gene to express. White is also a pattern gene ( Some breeders disagree) and is co-dominant. But, Presence of two copies of white gene masks every other color or pattern gene including Indiablue. and the bird look completely white. Indiablue x white ( does not matter which one is male ) = All chicks are Indiablue split white. Since white is co-dominant, the resulting chicks usually show a couple of white fkight feathers with or without a small white throat patch. Blackshoulder x White = All chicks carry one copy of BS gene and one copy of white gene. and the chicks look Indiablue with White flights with or without a white throat patch. Since the chicks do not have two copies of Blackshoulder gene (needs two copies to express ) the original Indiablue ( from which these mutants have evolved) shows up.

All depends on the adult birds parents, if she knows where she got them from the breeder could tell her more. But looking at the pictures, the second picture of the male has white on the throat which means he has white in him and the female has white feathers which means she too has white in her.

IB = BB ( two copies of Indiablue gene ) The only dominant color IBpied = BB, T, pd This bird carrys two copies of IB gene, one white gene and one pied gene.. Any bird carrying one white gene and one pied gene is a pied bird.. Similarily, A bronze pied bird carrys Two copies of Bronze gene, one white gene and one pied gene.. A dark pied bird carrys two copies of pied gene. Indiablue x white = all chicks are indiablue split white meaning each chick is 50 % Indiablue and 50 % white genetically. Appearance wise, these chicks look basically Indiablue (Because of its dominance) may carry white flights with or without white throat patch. Whit, pied , white eye gene and blackshoulder are all pattern genes. and can be combined among themselves and with other colors in a systematic way based on genetic principles.

So, the parents would have to have the Black Shoulder gene to have a BS pea?
