They were sold to me as Java Greens, but other peafowl breeders(and online databases) are telling me different.

Here are some better pictures of the peacock.

AWWWWW Poor babies! You wonder why people do that kind of thing to animals! Their color should improve with health drastically. I would make sure to keep vitamins in their water after treatment, up their fruit intake and yogurt would be a good idea. That bumble foot looks nasty, I normally give a shot of penicillin but since he is other med I would of course wait til everything else is under control. Peafowl can lose weight pretty fast from worms, I hope they have a speedy recovery and that I will be on your waiting list for eggs when they are healthy.

you should turn the people in, why should the other animals suffer. the people obviously can't afford to care for them and if they can, they don't care enough to care for them. if nothing else, make a phone call and as them to check it out, you can be anonymous. the only person you are doing a favor for is the person you got these birds from by protecting them from the law. is that what you really want to do?

Dont think they are pure Java , but are high % of green, they will need heat in northern winters. Not sure where the person was from, but bad winter will cause the feet prolems.(need above 32 f)
Keep their bedding clean, best to remove the roost, or place carpet on the roost. Low one untill those feet get better.

They are in bad shape. You are doing the right thing, those birds you can see how light they are, most likely worms, and bet they was not feeding high protien, peafowl and turkey need at least 20% or higher.

my old neibors peas were dropping like flies, i decided to give it a shot & see what i could do. I injected tylan 50 1/2 cc into their breasts 3x a day for 10 days..they all recovered..i couldnt belive it.

Ouch.. poor birds. Glad you are working hard to treat them though! Looks like you got plenty of good information so I'll just comment on the green part- these defnitely are not Javas or Greens but spaldings. The male does seem to have high % but the hen has pretty low % green blood..

It's a very bad problem- people selling spaldings as pure "Javas".. either dishonestly or out of honest ignorance(they bought the birds from someone who told n' sold them at full Java prices).

I even deliberately kept a high % male for many years to show people the difference between a spalding and java. Even so, not all were convinced.. (that the spalding was NOT a pure java that is! Or there 'wasn't that much difference between them'.. Oh well)
