PEAFOWL MAY/JUNE HATCH ALONG!!!!! COME JOIN THE OBSESSION!

I had four bronze peachicks hatch yesterday! Unfortunately the only bronze blackshoulder peachick died shortly after hatching... But I am super happy with the four I have because I finally now have bronze peafowl! I have six eggs due to hatch tomorrow. Then two more bronze eggs from to hatch on June 28. Those are my two eggs for my imprinting adventure!

Sorry for your loss!

Congrats on the healthy ones! Imprinting is so much fun, but beware, if either are male, you might regret it once they are "mature", lol.

My imprinted 2 year old, P-Dawg, is always trying to hump me.

I know Kat and I am trying so hard not to love my Patch but all of the ones I sold and kept are and were imprinted on me even the ones my hen hatched as I pulled all but one and when she found them I let her in the pen with the one she had, so they have 2 mommas.
Folks couldn't believe these babies ran to them instead of away, it was really kinda fun to watch them smile and try not to buy them all.

Blue sorry about your wee pea it is so hard to loose even one .

Yeah, especially when it was a dream color. But I talked to the breeder and I may get one in the fall! Kathy, so P-Dawg just humps you? As long as it is not mean, then I am fine. I have two eggs but will only imprint one, the second one is a backup just in case the first one cannot make it. I will raise the one chick by itself just like MinxFox did.

Zazouse those chicks sound so adorable. You should keep Patch!

He's not mean about it yet, but the other male that I imprinted/raised by hand is mean and tries to flog me all the time, so just beware of the "darkside" of imprinting. Of course I'll be devastated if P-Dawg turns mean about it.
Yea I am keeping Patch remember he has nose troubles.
Silly me, I forgot about his nose! I seem to do a lot of that lately. Guess that's all part of aging...

Hoping you or someone out there can tell me if a Peahen will eventually leave her nest of eggs after the 30 day gestation time is overdue? I cannot find anything on the internet

. She has been sitting on fertile eggs but not sure if her are chicks alive. Would greatly appreciate some feedback/advice. She is not completely safe where she nests (literally we are sleeping outside at night to keep the predators away).

None of my peas have ever gone broody, but I have chickens and ducks that will sit *forever*, and sometimes I have to lock them up to keep them from returning to an empty nest. Of course I candle the eggs before tossing them...
