So I’m starting a small farm in a huge backyard in the city. My city has little to no limits on the species of livestock able to be kept as long as they are kept in proper husbandTy standards. I’m dreaming of peafowl but I know several news articles show them being hated by neighborhoods. I’ve talk to several of my neighbors about how loud they can be and some assume they are only loud during the mating season and that female peafowl are quieter or at least more doable. Is any of this true? Is it poss to keep a male in a large garage enclosure with high perches during spring and have an aviary for him and his flock off season? my neighbors don’t have an issue with roosters, guineas, geese or turkeys but probably because they could never vocally compare to a lovesick pea, huh?
