Peafowl splayed leg! Need Advice!!

I have a 7 mo old peacock with a splayed leg. I have tried a few splints but they won’t stay on. Any suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated! Is there ANY hope for him??

Have you tried using vet wrap to hold the legs together properly underneath him? It sticks to itself but not feathers, skin, etc...same stuff they wrap horses legs with. I have used it on my ducks feet to cover bumblefoot and stays pretty well even with swimming. Does have a bit of stretch so not sure about this particular application since I've only corrected splayed leg in hatchlings using band aid. Just make sure you don't wrap too tight as it is sorta like a self stick ace bandage, snug but not tight. Has it been this way since hatch or did something happen? I'm worried since it's older this may be a lasting issue, but it's worth a shot.

No I have not tried the wrap but I will. It did not have a splayed leg when he was a hatchling it happened about a month ago.

Since this bird is not new hatchling and there wasn't some sort of injury I would have to suspect a vitamin deficiency. Usually B vitamin. I would suggest splints and poly-vi-sol. Or other multivitamin support for birds, if available. I do not have peacocks but this treatment has worked for guinea, ducks and chickens. Some meds for cocci inhibit B vitamins as this is one of the vitamins that has an effect on the oocytes of coccidia. So if he's been treated or taken medicated feed then he may need a vitamin boost.

How did this situation turn out? I have a 2.5 month old peacock with a splayed leg and I don’t want to give up on him but many have said once they’re older its very difficult… I’n hoping you have a success story to share!
