Is the swelling hard or soft? If it's hard, I think you need to get the pus out first, then give antibiotics. -Kathy
it's a sinus infection, if not treated the bird will die as the swelling makes it painful for them to eat or drink. I would take her to a vet treating it on your own can permanently injure the bird.
thank you, I did take her to my vet but he didn't want to do anything until she was on antibiotics for a while so I did but then he really didn't want to mess with her as he really didn't do birds so I had to find another vet who did Avian but there just wasn't one around here so I ended up getting some baytril from our farm vet and it finally went down.
