Peahen egg color and size

Pea eggs are much larger than Muscovy eggs. Well, mine are, lol.

Let me rephrase that - haha the duck I'm referring to is a muscovy mutt .. I'm not 100% sure what she is but I know she's part muscovy because of the whistling noises she makes and the red in her bill

someone dumped the poor thing in a park and I work at a wildlife rehab center on the weekends and we got a call about her.

Is she fertile? Gerald Barker

Thank you Birdrain! Those are a little bigger than I was thinking so that's definitely helpful.

It looks like you're using a Little Giant incubator.. may I ask what your hatch rate is like? I believe I have the same Little Giant as you.. but I've got the automatic turner in there as well. I was thinking about investing in a Brinsea Advance for a better hatch rate but if the Little Giant works well maybe I'll just stick with what I have. I've had a decent chicken hatch rate with my LG...
I got 5/8 eggs to hatch and my hen got 4/5 eggs to hatch. I consider that good. Maybe not the best but I believe this year will be my best. Even though I won't be able to incubate as many IB eggs as I wish this year. I can only fit 10 peafowl eggs in my incubator. I have 2 White peahens which will take up half of my incubator. I leave some eggs with my hens. I'm going to have a lot of peachicks this year. If I get at least the same this year as last year for me and my hens I'm going to have at least 17 peachicks from hens and me combined. I don't have enough hens to the point that I want to get a cabinet incubator. In the future when I get the 126 breeding peafowl I want then I'll definitely have a couple of those cabinet incubators.

The only time I would be worried about mixing eggs is when it's turkey and peahen. The eggs like color is similar but not exact along with size. If you get a large turkey egg and a small peafowl egg good luck trying to tell the difference until hatching day comes.

Interesting! Very cool.. I have three hens that are turning two so hopefully I will be getting a decent amount of eggs to try my luck at hatching with! How many eggs should I expect to get from three hens? Do they lay every day until they have a clutch built up or what?
