Peahen egg color and size

Interesting! Very cool.. I have three hens that are turning two so hopefully I will be getting a decent amount of eggs to try my luck at hatching with! How many eggs should I expect to get from three hens? Do they lay every day until they have a clutch built up or what?

I've had two year old lay about 9 eggs. I've heard others get more and some get less. Peahens lay every other day, and they will continue to lay until they have a clutch. Most clutches consist of 4-6 eggs. Sometimes more sometimes less. To make them continue just gather the eggs as they're laid. Keep them in an area at room temp until you've collected enough eggs. Eggs usually stay good until 10 days when they are laid.

I have three different types of turkeys, Royal Palm, Eastern Wild and BBW (broard breasted white)... All three breeds lay pretty speckled eggs.

Not all but they are relatively close.

Some turkey breeds outside of the heritages (meat birds) lay small white (low speckled) eggs, like some of the broad breasted varieties will be a huge bird but lay tiny white eggs.

You're right... Given their size, I really expected the 30 pound girls to lay large eggs, but they're the same size as the Royal Palm and Eastern Wild eggs.
