I have 2 peahens with my peacock, a bronze WE BS and an IB WE, both 2 years old and the cock is 3.
This is the first breeding year for all of them. My bronze hasn’t layed a single egg yet and my blue layed 6. All of them developed a respiratory issue and my blue stopped laying, but it was quickly snubbed out, but my blue hasn’t started laying again. The last egg I got from her was on 5/6. Is this normal for a first year in peahens? And does this just mean my bronze isn’t mature enough to breed yet? They all seem very active and show no signs of the respiratory issue they previously had. Any thoughts?

It's normal for first-year layers to only lay a few and then stop. A lot of my first-time layers only lay 6-12 in that first season. It's ALSO common for hens to stop laying during/after antibiotics, AND it's not unusual for perfectly healthy birds to take breaks during the breeding season. My girls will sometimes stop laying for a week after a big storm scares them.

Ok that makes me feel a lot better. They’re in their first season, have had antibiotics, and a couple foxes came thru last week and had them all worked up. If they don’t lay anymore Im OK with that. I have five eggs fertile and growing in the incubator. I’m more than happy with that for my first year breeding peafowl
