Pecked by the chicken bug

hello there, im pretty new here as well and also got bit by the chicken bug!

they are all my sweet girls i have a total of 8 and they are spoiled rotten.. but they are learning to trust me and i even have my 2 leghorns jumping up on their balance beam as i call it, when they see me come outside" as thats where they will get rewarded " they learned that fast... so awesome!

as far as the coop goes that your building,, everyone has their own prefrence in materials, and i have seen some gorgeous coops out there, to some of us chicken keepers i think a great coop is kinda like having a antique hot rod and keeping it looking classy ...

though i am always trying to do new things in my barn,, the girls dont seem to mind,, " they actually are used to now,, as i go in there every day on a routine and sweep the floor and rake the pen as well.as pick them up telling them" pretty bird" good girl" hahaha.. ill tell ya.. ive got the chicken bug bad,, but thats ok... i love them and they know it.. so its going very well:)

im sure whatever coop you put together will be great for your additions as they will call it home" no matter what it looks like. :)

best of luck!

Thank you, Tawana, that's very kind. I am really blessed that my Beloved Husband enjoys building - and engineering (OVER-engineering?) and designing - things, and that he does a very good job at it. I'm looking forward to posting a lot of pictures, if only to give proper BRAVO!s to him ;-)

I still want to get the girls very socialized to us, especially if we do go ahead and end up also running broilers for meat. That way, we'll have the best of both worlds!
