Hi

I have 4 five week old buff Orpingtons and 5 three week old Wyndottes and Easter Eggers. Yesterday I noticed all of them started to peck one another. Otherwise they seem to all get along, I get the impression they are now trying to establish their pecking order. One of the buffs had an obvious pecking injury on her head. There was minimal blood but should I clean it or if it looks ok just leave it alone? How do I clean it and what can I put on it (neosporin ok?)?

Thanks!

I have two little guys that started to develop comb and wattles last weekend. Saturday I noticed that one was pecked on the wattle, tail and feet. I cleaned him up and treated him with Blue Kote and he seems okay. The other I just noticed this morning. I'm going to let him go today and see how it goes. I think they might just be sorting out who's the boss. I often see him and some of the more dominant girls "sparring" a bit. The Blue Kote does seem to have helped the other little guy though.
