Is there anyway you can deter chickens from pecking / picking at others? It drives me nuts to see my rooster doing it. So far out of the 7 chickens that are together I have only seen two picking on others. Can I spray them with a water bottle or something when they do it??

I'm guessing there's not much "we" can do though?

No, they do not always work it out on their own. My birds are just such a case. I tried Blu-kote, Pick-no-more, etc. and they all worked somewhat, but not enough. The thing that really helped us was pinless peepers. I don't know if any feed stores carry them. I bought them online. At first they try to shake them off, but they do get used to them in short order. If you truly have a problem with some of your birds, this is a good way to go. They are still able to eat, drink, scratch, etc. but not able to peck each other with any success.
