Is there anyway you can deter chickens from pecking / picking at others? It drives me nuts to see my rooster doing it. So far out of the 7 chickens that are together I have only seen two picking on others. Can I spray them with a water bottle or something when they do it?? [IMG] I'm guessing there's not much "we" can do though?

No, they do not always work it out on their own. My birds are just such a case. I tried Blu-kote, Pick-no-more, etc. and they all worked somewhat, but not enough. The thing that really helped us was pinless peepers. I don't know if any feed stores carry them. I bought them online. At first they try to shake them off, but they do get used to them in short order. If you truly have a problem with some of your birds, this is a good way to go. They are still able to eat, drink, scratch, etc. but not able to peck each other with any success.
