FBC, yes they are out of the 4 eggs I got from you. Remember it was in that 100+ heat spell. You gave me 2 cause you were concerned they would not be fertile with the heat. Only 1 was not. The other 3 progressed great at the same rate. Then I had to open incubator a couple times as Pecky decided to come a day early and get in the fan. The other 2 became shrink wrapped. I saved Pokey cause you had given me advise on my hatch before, but it was to late for the other one. He was perfect just died cause he couldn't get out. These two chicks are from the eggs you got frm me Lil Zoo? You got 2 India Blue eggs and 2 Midnight B/S eggs, correct? Just glancing at the pics above and hoping my memory is right,,looks like Pecky is an India Blue Pied,,and the Midnight B/S at this point looks to be a male,,,but then again it's early and it's said sexing b/s peachicks isn't possible until they are months old.
The India Blue Pied is the chick in question here. I think you crossed him with a WOOD PECKER. The little fellow pecks everything continuously . HA, HA.
Thank you, Thank you. I so hope the Midnight B/S is a male will update pics along the way. I think they are the most beautiful Peacock I have seen to date, although I love the white also. Pecky as a India Blue Pied if female crossed with my White Peacock will have mixed chicks of white 50% and 50% IB Pieds won't she? ? will they be considered split then, also??? I'm almost embarrassed to ask I know so little on this genetics, that's why I was planning on keeping straight color pens. I think I might be to old to learn all this genetics. I just think I am understanding an the experts throw out another scenario and my head spins.
