So I've been chicken farming 9 years and still can't grab the concept I've boiled in baking soda I leave eggs on counter for at least 7-10 days and have tried numerous other so called will work ideas so far I still have a heck of a time peeling a egg without messing up the white and some egg yolks after being boiled show through the white making it difficult to cut in half for deviled eggs???? Any other suggestions I'm open to any lol

OK here is what works for us:

    boil eggs
immediately rinse/cover with the coldest water you have (very cold tap water or even ice water)
    then remove eggs promptly

    Works great for us!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Eggs that are a little older (week or so) do seem to do better, but even most fresh eggs will work ... add room temperature eggs to boiling water, keep on medium heat (depending on size of egg 10-15 minutes or so). Drain eggs into colander, quickly give eggs a good shake so you crack the shells, immediately dump into big bowl of ice water, stir around, eggs should peel easily....
