i am loving that sound. our chicks came yesterday. initially we were going to keep them in a four season ( unheated ) room. the temps dropped quite a bit last night but they did fine with just a 100 watt bulb in the brooder. the problem turned out to be when the room started to heat up during the day. i work full time so i'm not home to constantly check the temp. hubby gave in and said they should stay in the house for a while. a 60 watt bulb is currently keeping them at a balmy 90 degrees. they are fat and happy! 2 white rocks and 2 barred rocks. just 3 days old.
