Alright, Beth decided to quit fighting and go to heaven

We're pretty sure that she was blind, and possibly deaf, and henceforth couldn't find food or water. I gave her droplets at a time with a small syringe for the last 30 minutes of her sweet life. She fought for so long - makes me wonder how strong she would have been if she had lived

Hmm *scratches chin*

Her eyes were noticeably smaller than normal, but I guess I was the blind one - but I'm so glad we got to give her happy first/last day. She spent it hiding in my sister's sleeve, and cheeping like - well, like she couldn't hear herself!

Oh I felt so bad for her...... she fought SOOOOOOOO hard. BUT now she is in heaven looking for Sunny Buff, the best broody in heaven as of now

I'm soooo sorry, Peepers!

Thanks to all of you guys

The good thing is, all the other chicks are perfectly healthy!

We're having some minorpasty butt issues, but beyond that it's all pretty good!
I had to clean off Lucy's butt yesterday....I almost pulled off her belly-button (YES chickens do have belly buttons), and she is STILL trying to get a tiny clump of feathers dry! So diligent XD

Yeah!

They are cold.... but the heatlamp is too hot for me to fix, and they aren't so cold that they'll die, so we put a piece of styrofoam on top of heir cage to keep some of the heat in.

Good idea!
I had a bad experience with a piece of cardboard I used to keep the heat in my broader once-
It caught on fire because the heat lamp was only 8" away. But all the chicks were fine, thankfully.....

Oh wow! Yeah, the big girls had eaten a divit in the sde of the piece that fit the heat lamp just perfectly

Peachy reeeeeaally likes styrofoam.
