Hi all, we had a young-seeming peacock arrive on our doorstep in October. Have no idea where the lonely guy came from but he's taken up residence here now. (We are semi-rural but have no outdoor animals ourselves.)

He makes no noise when eating except when I feed him dried worms - then he peeps like a baby chick! Of course I assume he's expressing pleasure but I can't seem to find more info online about what that might mean.

Thanks!

My only non chicken experience has been with guineas. I did notice that some of them would make noises while they ate. Almost like a half chirp and grunt. One of the girls would go bonkers when she'd get a bit of scratch.

My peafowl make that peeping sound when they get treats. It seems to alert the others to the good stuff.

My mama peahen makes that sound when I put something really good in the tray. I assume she is telling her peachicks that this is "the good stuff."
