sorry for your loss....but if you had her put down or she passed away on her own....from the pictures and her described behavior it was for the best...it appeared to me that the injuries probably caused swelling of her brain...and puncture wounds are notorious for infections....the way she held her head and the balance issues all point to brain injury and or probable spreading infection....the increased pressure would account for the behavior changes...sad as it is it's probably better than having her suffering. Once again, I'm so sorry for your loss...ducks are such endearing characters.

Hi just following up on how you and Lefty are doing. I think about your sad story all the time and it makes me appreciate and cherish my ducks every minute of every day.

OMG. I'm so sorry. My computer didn't show the last three posts. I'm so sorry you lost your duck.

It's okay. We miss Poncha tremendously and Lefty has been very lonely without her. Since her passing we made the decision to buy 2 new baby females so that Lefty can have some company. They will never replace Poncha who we believe was the "chosen one". The little ducks will have to grow to maturity before we introduce them to Lefty. We're hopeful that he likes his new buddies. Here is lefty as of 1:50pm (central time) on 10-12-2016. (Live Duck Cam)
