Pekin Duck Club!

Hi I am a proud owner of three pekins, they are 24 weeks old. I have never had ducks before and am learning all I can about my pekins. I still don't know what sex my pekins are. I definately have a female because she has laid some eggs but I don't know which one it is. I have one that quacks loudly, one that sounds like a honk and one that joins in occassionly. Can anyone help me to sort out this problem I have.

Drakes have a raspy voice and hens have a loud quack. Drakes have a feather on their tale that is curled.

Thank you, you can really tell the difference with your pekins male and female, do you think my pekins would have a drake feathers by 24 weeks if they are males? None of them have.

They look like big beautiful shquishy girls! But their drake feather can fall out. If you try picking them up and separating them one by one, the girls will quack their heads off while boys will mostly remain silent.

First and third duck are males, second and fourth duck are females in the video.

Thank you I have just seperated them one of them made no noise at all. The other two I think one is a boy and the other a girl. I will just have to be patient and wait to see if more of them start to lay or a drake feather appears.

Your Pekin ducks are beautiful they are so special. I love my ducks they are so happy and full of personality. They certainly make me feel happy. We are going to make a new enclosure for ours have you any tips that may help with some of the decisions we are going to make.

If you pick them up and giggle them until they start talking, it will be very clear what they are. Giggle and compare to YouTube. Lol. Should be entertaining for your neighbors to watch anyways.....
