I used to give them to my guys but they would only eat it when they were really hungry!  I was told to use peas to make them love me.  Now they almost jump into my lap to get them.  But god forbid I move to much.  Flap flap flap and their gone!  :They like there new home but don't go in on their own.  I have to pick them up and put them in.  But I will continue w/ the peascuz it really does get their attention! But save your scratch for the chickens, my opion that is.

I love babies!! I've never had that happen before so I don't know what it is, but I think a couple other people posted some good information... make sure they can dunk their entire heads into your waterer because they need to be able to clean their eyes and nares out daily. Like another poster stated, apple cider vinegar "with the Mother" won't hurt (1 T. per gallon) - also, as for the niacin, if it's chick starter, you definitely need to add some (100-125mg per gallon of water - it shouldn't be the kind that says "flush-free" or "time-release"), if the food is duck starter, it probably has enough niacin. Also, I wouldn't do the vinegar and the niacin at the same time, alternate jugs of water.

Yes, they can but mine never cared for it, so I stopped giving it to them and just save it for the chickens.

I have a question about my 11 pekin x brown runner ducklings that i posted pics of earlier. Are ducks, like geese and chickens, able to be sex linked when white is crossed with a dark color? 1 of mine is black with a white neck spot and 1 is brown, the other 9 are white. I know that with geese when white is crossed with a darker color the males are pied and the females are white. Did i get really lucky and hatch two drakes and 9 hens? LoL they are getting their quacks and rhasps the two dark ducks are rhaspy.

Ducky update:
My biggest Pekin, Susie (she is a scardie cat!), is growing her big bird feathers and is already testing her quaking/honking these past 3 days! While my other Pekin, Gunter the curious, is still mostly yellow but his voice is getting darker now. Oh, and Lola, my bigger Rouen, does not like peas while the others go INSANE over them

. Might have to try out different treats for my picky butt then...

My smaller Rouen with the leg difficulty, Tina, is doing a LOT better since starting her on SaveA Chick, is really growing now and using her leg, although she still uses it a bit awkwardly. But with the company of the cutie pie Brownie, which is a Khaki and has a white ring round her neck, she is doing really good. Brownie starts throwing a tantrum as soon as I take Tina out! lol. Sooo cute!

Almost unbelievable that there is about 2 weeks between the little guys, but I don't think even a full week between the bigger ones!
