Hi I am new to keeping ducks. My family and I just got a 2 week old Pekin duckling yesterday. I have been looking everywhere to find out how tall they get but I have been unsuccessful. Does anyone know?

No offense taken. I was thinking I came across the wrong way. Maybe you can clip Muscovy wings like you can with others to stop them from getting much lift. I don't know enough about them to say.

I don't know what your financial situation is and don't need to, but if you have the means to do it, have you considered saying, "Okay, you'll take that for the pair/trio? What if I give you the same for just one and you can still have the others?" Some sellers would do that. I wouldn't, but some would.

I'm waiting to hear back from from the girl, I told her I can only get one. She's giving them to me for free. Her mother got sick and she just don't have the time to care for them anymore but she wants them to stay together. Now with the Muscovy females I can get just one for 25 or both for 40. Which I think is reasonable. I just don't know if that's the right bird for me and JoJo. The hard thing is I understand wanting to keep them together and I feel bad.!! Lol...I'm a sucker!

Before yesterday's horrible events I was thinking of adding a few more ducks to my flock, any advise on how to do that successfully

My other 3ducks looked so sad this evening and were very quiet. Since Ezmarelda (she's the one who died) was the leader of the group, I think the others are trying to figure out who's gonna be the leader now.  the owner of the dog appoligized and offered to pay for a replacement. I just hope the others will be okay.

At least your neighbor aint a jerk. I don't have fencing either, I rent, its not allowed. I'm sorry about your loss. To me its as sad as losing a human family member. Anything we can help you with just ask. I don't mind and I'm sure no one else would! Sorry.. Hugs

They seem better today, but of course they're a lot quieter, I'm going to bring them into my big garden where I can secure them in later

is the only issue them being able to perch? If so, you could clip, couldn't you? From what I have gathered about Muscovies is that they are wonderful and for the most part, mellow birds. Miss Lydia posted some pics of her girls yesterday and they are beyond adorable.

This book was written approximately 30 years ago, when my GF was in 3rd grade, she had always wanted a duck, so I thought I would get her 2 ducks. ( where should I get them from?)

Please I am new to this and is seeking any help.

checking to see can we make the ducks into house ducks? How do we do that? Do they poop in the house? ( I have 2 dogs, a Maltese and an old jack Russell plus a cat)

Or do we keep them outside? I just accquired 2 small ponds that I need to install. Can you please let me know what else I need to do not to have too much of a mud area? Or any mud area.

Do we build a coop ( how do we get plans? ) or how do we buy one?
