Pekin Duck Club!

Only my female geese love the meal worms my ganders stick their noses up at them. but my goodness my ducks and chickens mob me when I come out with meal worms for snack time.Try putting the mealworms in their feed they may get a taste for them that way. But they really are expensive I buy 44 lbs at a time.

as for the Oyster shell she'll find it and use it when she needs it. just put it in a convenient place.
Funny about your ganders. I probably won't be giving them anymore. They really only like their feed and lettuce. They will even walk away from lettuce if they aren't in the mood. I went in to see if the ducks ate any of the mealworms a little later, and no can do. So I put crazy Henry in his house and had some one on one with Hazel. I dumped the bowl of mealworms on the ground, and she scarfed them down. I put the oyster shell on the ground and she nibbled it a bit but I think she spit it back out. It's in a bowl next to their food anyway. I just think I have a quirky flock.

44 lbs of mealworms? Wow! That's a lot of mealworms!

I would love to see that. And speaking of mealworms, Patti, I haven't gotten to the feed store yet for my tinys. Better do that this weekend.

My lot adore them too! But I'm able to get small bags from the local shop for 99p! :)

Does anyone know what cause Pekin to stop laying? My duck has stopped laying for about 6 weeks now. Same food, same coop but got hotter in Iowa. I also added two 3 months old Rouen duckling to the flock. They got along fine and sleep in the same coop along with my 4 hens.
Please share your knowledge.

Well the heat will do it and then they have to take breaks too or they would burn out and then molt also plays a part in it too. And then adding any new members to the flock has it's upsets.
