Lily and JoJo spent the morning running under the real tall grassy plant things in front of our house. Jojo has always stayed in back of the house, I guess he let Lily talk him into wandering. My dh actually freaked when he didn't see them and took off outside yelling for jojo, lol, and he says he doesn't care for the ducks. Anyhow, tomorrow we are going to the local tsc poultry swap and seeing if there might happen to be another female for my pair. I'm so paranoid jojo is going to over mate Lily so maybe I'll get another if there is one. It was actually my Hubby's idea! I moved them to the basement now so they got more room. They only seem to mate when they are in the pool, is that common? Or if they are in the bath tub. I've never seen it happen any where else, still always in water. Maybe he's trying to drown her.

Not trying to drown her lol but heavy weight ducks seem to be able to mate easier in water, although my drake could care less if he gets close enough to one of his girls to mate with her on dry land. But my girls will then run and jump into the pool.

Its ridiculous the amount I go through. I wash atleast a load of blankets/towels a day too! I wish there was an easier way, I can't wait till we move and we can build them an outside duck house. Its a complicated situation, I didn't expect to end up with permanent ducks! Lol lil too late now. They are like having more kids

It's a labor of love, I just hope you don't get over whelmed when your new lil one arrives. Your going to need help.

They are amazing and protein is a big part of their diet so I guess we shouldn't be surprised that they would go for live protein.Opie loves dog food dry and canned. I think he would eat it only if I would let him. But I don't he only gets little tastes.  Yesterday dh had cut some gristle and fat off his steak and cut it up for the dogs I said what about Opie he was inside so he cut a small smudge off and yep you guessed it Opie ate it. lol

Good for Opie eating the steak remnants. I love that he was inside and was with you guys for dinner.
