Pekin Duck Club!

Ahhhh!!!! New pics! I'm so excited!!!! Even if I'm living through motorcycle chick now but hey whatever works, right!!! Ummm the only person jojo has nipped at has been the dh, he growls at him too... I think its a guy thing, I mean literally growls, I thought my dh was joking until I heard it myself. Jojo runs after Ryleigh sumtimes and has jumped at her but never actually nipped at her. To JoJo's defense, Ryleigh has grabbed his wings, kicked him, she grabs his beak. They had a love, hate relationship. Main reason jojo couldn't be a permanent house duck, Ryleigh was jealous! Plain and simple. Oh my, I miss them but they look so happy! Yay!!! I can sleep good knowing all is well!!!! Thank you everyone especially MCC!!! :ya. :clap. :yesss:

Hi, where are the pics, I want to see your ducks.

Okay, the ducks made it through the night. They asked that I never go down there (to the coops) at six in the morning ever again. They were happy with their meal worm soup though!

No egg yet. I'm guessing that her eggs will come later like the chickens'. Jazlyn will be more than happy to check later on!
I so need to get a new schedule though. As the cold sets in, the pop doors (which I don't shut above 40*) have to be opened at the butt crack of dawn. Jaz has been waking too early lately. Poor baby just had four shots on Tuesday morning! That and she JUST yesterday got over yet another cold. I think there's something still bugging her that is waking her in the morning.

Anyway! I need to find a schedule that allows me to get out to the birds before baby duty grabs my attention.
BTW, she isn't mine! As much as I wish she were, she is my niece. I have her up to six days a week, and buy whatever she needs. My family has purchased Christmas gifts for her. She has her own room, and I arrange the house for her. I saw her first steps, heard her first words... But she isn't mine.

Sure sounds like she is, your awesome to be acting mama if that is what your doing.. Shes a cutie..

Hopefully you'll get the schedule worked out,. Sounds like they are happy at their new home.

When you say you don't close the pop door don't you worry about preds walking right in and killing your birds?

There is a run to contend to. So far, I have not lost anyone in four years. Now the ducks will always be another story. Since they can't fly, I will always have to shut their door at night.

The baby is adorable. Lily usually lays between 5-6 am so maybe she has to get adjusted and she will get back on track. Lily will eat and eat so plz make sure jojo eats. He doesn't really eat a lot of feed. I put one of those bags of rice in the microwave for 90 seconds, put in a dish for him, let it sit out to cool off or set it in the fridge for ten minutes to cook off faster. Mix in some mealworms, or peas, diced tomatoes or whatever and that is JoJo's meal. Lily eats it too. She's a pig. When u pick them up, you can feel how much heavier she is! Did she build a nest yet?

I love her name. Jazlyn or Jaz for short. She is cute and it is wonderful how you take care and love her. And it's sweet she collects eggs and helps out.

As I suspected, Lily layed her egg an hour or so ago. They have tomato, peas, carrots (all diced) green beans, diced egg... Oh! Abd Jojo got down to business with fermented feed. Yeay!!
They are outside now eating bugs. They honestly seem very happy!
No pictures of this last time out. Juggling and leading a parade is hard work! Prep the food, get the water jugs, dress the baby, get all the stuff and living things outside. I didn't have another hand to grab my phone to take pictures(which I do regret! The scene was perfect!).
Hopefully later.
