Pekin Duck Club!

Hi I'm new so I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place and apologize if it's wrong. I have a problem with 3 of my Pekin ducks. We already had 3 outside and just recently put 3 of the new ones outside in a separate pin. The 3 young ones now have red spots on their beaks. Does anyone know what causes red spots on their beak? Thanks

Ahhhh!!!! New pics! I'm so excited!!!! Even if I'm living through motorcycle chick now but hey whatever works, right!!! Ummm the only person jojo has nipped at has been the dh, he growls at him too... I think its a guy thing, I mean literally growls, I thought my dh was joking until I heard it myself. Jojo runs after Ryleigh sumtimes and has jumped at her but never actually nipped at her. To JoJo's defense, Ryleigh has grabbed his wings, kicked him, she grabs his beak. They had a love, hate relationship. Main reason jojo couldn't be a permanent house duck, Ryleigh was jealous! Plain and simple. Oh my, I miss them but they look so happy! Yay!!! I can sleep good knowing all is well!!!! Thank you everyone especially MCC!!! . .

Yea extremely. She stopped once he wasn't upstairs anymore. And the dh would get mad I would punish her then sit on the couch holding JoJo. No wonder jojo disliked him

Jazlyn wouldn't dare! I'd nip that in the bud immediately! Don't worry! I have known too many people that say, Oh, she's juat a baby! She doesn't know better!" Yeah, she's a baby... For now! She will learn to not do it easier than an animal will (or should!!) learn to tolerate it.

They were sleeping beside the water dish together. I kinda sorta maybe might have woken them.

I'll stay outside next time I check on them. They are quiet, so I'm sure all is well. Rephrase. They were quiet until I woke them. Then they told me off.

Yea, they aren't quiet. Wait till morning, they expect something to eat as soon as they open their eyes and they won't shut up till they get it! Sorry lol ok gnite all

I hope they don't open their eyes until I do then! Anywhere from 6-7. Worms in the water, treats on the floor. Rice, alfalfa, (Buckwheat and the rest of the gang!) all offered at the appropriate times. I'll re-read the list.

He/she is cute. I don't own ducks but a friend of mine used to own a Pekin until he rehomed her. When she was young her bill was flawless. But as she matured, it started freckling up. I eventually met her and saw the freckles myself but they were not red, more a brn/blk color. So I, unfortunately, cannot offer any answer. Hopefully someone else with the breed can. And you did post in the right place. You're fine
