no sign of drake feathers yet but her wings are a little more formed than his are. maybe she is a little older than him? but she has more fluff on her neck than he does so im not sure about that either. They are both around six and a half weeks old.

When will Sam I am get feathers he is a week old and the chicks that are two days younger have feathers and he still has none.

My little ones started feathering at about 3.5 to 4 weeks. they are almost fully feathered now at 6.5 weeks. My chickens feathered alot faster too.

Wow! Not including the two newcomers we have 122 members! I'm not really sure how i would weigh them they tolerate me and i can pick them up but i have to corner them first. That and i don't have a scale that would read such a small weight. I'm guessing 7-8 for Sally and 6-7 Waddles. Both are just over 6 weeks old. I could be wrong on the weight tho but they are pretty hefty. Almost all their grown up feathers are in. Still a little fluff left but their wing feathers finally showed up! Me pics coming as soon as i get them off my camera.

WOW! We have a lot of members! Hah when I started I didn't think anyone would join but look at us now! I thread filled with some of the most beautiful Pekins! Has anyone looked at the photo album for the group? Have you ever seen so many gorgeous ducks?

I have Soleil weighed at the vets as well as when we go to PetSmart, but she hasn't changed weight since she got to 7lbs. I was going to suggest putting a storage tub or something that Sally and Waddles can stand in. Put that on the scale first, write down the weight, and then weigh each one, subtracting the difference. Just an idea

Such a photographic pair! I don't know much about when the drake feather is supposed to come in, I knew I had a girl so I never bothered watching for that kind of change lol not that there was one hah

Oh my... You take Soleil to PetSmart? Man you are awesome! My ducks will be lucky to come back in the house after we move them out! Lol!

I lost 2 of my Jumbo Pekins on Tuesday... 2 were at 5-1/2 weeks old, and 4 at 4-1/2 weeks old... lost 1 of each age. That's what I get for going on a week's vacation out of state, and asking my daughter-in-law to watch them for us. Oh well... can't get too upset, she has 3 young children at home (lives next door), the youngest is only 2 months old, so maybe it was a bit much watching 12 ducklings, and 34 chicks (15 at 6 weeks old, 19 at 2 weeks old, 1 of which we lost as well while gone). I've got replacement ducklings coming at the end of June... made sure that they will be a male/female pair, to ensure that I will have a breeding pair.

Wednesday, the remaining 4 Jumbo Pekins and all 6 Rouens went out to their new pen. They LOVE the extra space, and today, they got their kiddie pool. I had to put them into it, and the first one in was a Jumbo Pekin... went to pick up 2 Rouens to put in, and the Pekin jumped out! As soon as I got the 2 Rouens in, they went to town diving and swimming around... so put the Pekin back in, and it was happy to have company. Shortly after that, the rest saw the activity, and started getting in on their own. My oldest remaining Pekin was the last one out, and I stayed in the pen with them (it's 10'x10'x6'H) to make sure that everyone could get out on their own. Happy, Happy, Happy Ducks!

So sorry for your loss. I recently lost four chicks. Its hard. How much does your jumbo Pekin weigh? I'm trying to figure out if my hen is a jumbo.
