Pekin Duck Club!

How old are they in this pic? I'm wondering if Aflac is older than I thought he was...it will be 7 weeks since we brought him home on Friday, but he has all his adult feathers in...not fuzzy like these guys. We got him as a duckling from the feed store so unsure on age.

They would of been 7 weeks as of last Sat. so now they will be 8 wks this coming! Have you had yours out all day in the rain yet? Mine still don't have all their feathers. Their body still has alot of down. I'm unsure what to do.

It's official we definitely have one of each! I'm wondering tho, is anyone else's drake smaller then their hens? Waddles is definitely smaller than Sally. Could she be a jumbo. She is pretty heavy for only 6 1/2 weeks old...

I have two pekins that are a little over two weeks old. They are growing so fast...! I did notice that one has a light orange bill while the other has a light pink bill. What gives? Would this indicate that I have one of each sex? Too early to tell by voice.




I also have 3 female welshies and a male and one black female cayuga.

Hi Quack! I don't think the beak color has anything to do w/it's sex. I wish I could help! We just put ours our to their home today. I'm feeling lonely

Welcome! You have such cuties!!! I'm not sure if bill is any indicator of what sex they are, but my duck Soleil has a pink bill too. I was told that it would either never change or that I can try different diets such as the leafy green diet, but it didn't change anything. Oh, would you like to be listed as a member of the Pekin Duck Club?

Sure, add me to the club. Does anyone have any ideas about why my ducks have such low fertility? What does everyone's pool/pond set up look like?

Wow! Not including the two newcomers we have 122 members! I'm not really sure how i would weigh them they tolerate me and i can pick them up but i have to corner them first. That and i don't have a scale that would read such a small weight. I'm guessing 7-8 for Sally and 6-7 Waddles. Both are just over 6 weeks old. I could be wrong on the weight tho but they are pretty hefty. Almost all their grown up feathers are in. Still a little fluff left but their wing feathers finally showed up! Me pics coming as soon as i get them off my camera.
