Today my ducks are both looking very male... What do you guys think? I tried to get some good shots of the drake feathers. What do I do if they are both male? Will they fight? They seem very attached to each other. Although I was really hoping for a male/female pair.

How old are they? Mine will be 7 weeks come Sat. Since 3 weeks one of my pins have had a curled up tail. I was told they needed their feathers as mine do not. So I'm in the same boat as you, sort of..

I'm hoping one of them is a girl. She sure acts like one. I was a tomboy and had no time for those girly girls!

Ya, the pool is only half above ground now. I went in the run with a pick axe, spud bar, shovel, and made it about 6" before I hit frozen solid clay. Plus it dropped 40 degrees in 1/2 hour. At this altitude we don't grow grass, just rocks.

Then after warming up a big bowl of peas I hand fed them while walking slowly backwards. Only one took the bait and jumped in. That lasted all of 2 seconds. One of the chooks is still picking on them but I imagine it will be a matter of hours before they are on top of the pecking order.

That's popcorn all over the run. The girls were out free ranging while I did all this and the ducks don't seem to care for it much.

How old are they in this pic? I'm wondering if Aflac is older than I thought he was...it will be 7 weeks since we brought him home on Friday, but he has all his adult feathers in...not fuzzy like these guys. We got him as a duckling from the feed store so unsure on age.

Mine are about 7 weeks as well. We got them off CL when they were 3 weeks from someone who decided ducks weren't for her. She got them from Tractor Supply. Anyways, I noticed the one had a drake feather right away but the other one looked more female. Although the one with a drake feather was smaller than the other one. Then today after their bath, they both looked like they had drake feathers and now I'm worried, lol. I am new to ducks and just trying to learn the ropes. :)

Mine are about 5 wks and they love the water!!!

Another drake... Need another hen!

Misschickenlittle, looking at the size of yours at 5 weeks old makes me wonder if mine are actually jumbo pekins. They were the size of my full grown hens when I got them at 3 weeks old and are now double the size at 7 weeks.
