Pekin Duck Club!

Purina flock all grower feed crumble/ turkey layer crumble worms grits oatmeal kale tomatoes cucumber squash yellow Mexican squash peas corn green beans cooked zucchini celery grits from grocery store.oatmeal.-parsley on occasion.scratch grain poultry grit. They will not eat anything else. I can barley get them to eat these. Two more eggs lost. One had a little bit of life in it very small with blood . And yolk. Other yolk.

We went and got another heat light fixture. We just need to get another bulb. I think partners going to try and get the light a little closer to dog house enough to shine in dog house but not able to get knocked down. I told him not in dog house because hope can't see. And she may knock into it.

Happy Mother's Day to all. More egg death.! No development at all, well got the lamp on the dog house, it's cutting it close have to watch it closely around birds, question because it so close. Do I have to use it all the time. I like just to youse it at night or does it have to be on 24/7. They still have the one over food bowl and water dish,

Moved one of my 7 juveniles roosters to chicken coop today, to much fighting hope it doesn't cause issues with my drake and the grandparents chickens don't hurt him.

Tracy, I am so sorry to say this. I can't understand what you are trying to say. Almost ever. I am really sorry!

I can understand that you have a heat lamp over the food and water. You don't need to do that. One place (as long as it is big enough for everyone to fit) that is warm enough is all you need. Food and water is not usually kept under the heat source. Momma duck/fowl doesn't heat it up for her babies, and we don't have to either.
You need a lamp on as long as the babies need it. It depends on the babies and the weather. Somehow, mine were fine without any heat at three -weeks-old and it went down to the low thirties twice that week.

Hi there! I'm new year so forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place. I have had a single male pekin duck for two months now. This morning, i noticed he has pulled out quite a few wing feathers and I am hoping to get your take on it before I rush to the vet. I have read up on a few possible causes:
Depression from being without other ducks
Mites
Malnutrition-> angel wing
Molting

I have attached a photo for you guys to see and here is some additional information.
My local farm feed was out of duck grower so I have him on chick grower temporarily.
I give him chopped lettuce, grass, clovers, watermelon, and berries.
He has a good sized pen with grass to explore every day.
He has a small kid sized pool for swimming when I'm not home but i take him in my creek when i can.
I just added today a stuffed animal and grass tied in twine that hangs eye level.
He had a leg injury as a duckling that caused him to learn to walk with a limp and have arthritis in one leg.

My official questions:
What do you think the cause of his feather pulling is and should i be worried?
What can i feed him that will bring down the inflammation of his arthritis? Is turmeric safe for ducks?

Thank you for all your help, i am verg new to this and I love my Reggie so very much

Looks like he's beginning to molt. I would watch him, but I suspect it's molting.

I have heard of people giving turmeric to ducks but I don't know a particular dosage.

No the eggs our in dog house that is my issue at moment. The eggs our not developing making issues. The light over the food and water dish is because (hope duck is blind and she can't see it) it's cold outside and raining.
