Pekin Duck Club!

While cleaning the coop this morning some monikers occurred to me. All the other birds have names that end in 'Y', so Filthy and Dirty fit the bill. That pool has to be dumped at least once a day, lest it turn into quicksand. Those 2 Pekins make 3 times more mess than 11 chooks

Ducky update: My biggest Pekin, Susie (she is a scardie cat!), is growing her big bird feathers and is already testing her quaking/honking these past 3 days! While my other Pekin, Gunter the curious, is still mostly yellow but his voice is getting darker now. Oh, and Lola, my bigger Rouen, does not like peas while the others go INSANE over them  . Might have to try out different treats for my picky butt then... My smaller Rouen with the leg difficulty, Tina, is doing a LOT better since starting her on SaveA Chick, is really growing now and using her leg, although she still uses it a bit awkwardly. But with the company of the cutie pie Brownie, which is a Khaki and has a white ring round her neck, she is doing really good. Brownie starts throwing a tantrum as soon as I take Tina out! lol. Sooo cute! here are the bigger ones (Lola, Gunter and Susie) and here are the little guys Brownie and Tina Almost unbelievable that there is about 2 weeks between the little guys, but I don't think even a full week between the bigger ones! And I can't wait for them to be all grown up and pretty! :weee
I think Mrs. Susie might be the Gunter. Haha my biggest one turned out to be a boy.

Today my ducks are both looking very male... What do you guys think? I tried to get some good shots of the drake feathers. What do I do if they are both male? Will they fight? They seem very attached to each other. Although I was really hoping for a male/female pair.

Drakes tails I know stick strate up and the females tail stick out from the pics it looks like you have the one on the left is a female and the one on the right could be the drake. Just my thoughts on it tho. Also if they have grown up together they should be friends. I know my almost 9 week old ducks you can tell the drake from the female, she is much bigger and he is a little bit smaller but he is the one that is always protecting her. They are inseparable, if you hold one with out the other the one not being held starts to cry so I have to try and hold both so one on is upset. They are my babies and I love them more and more everyday. And everyday their personalities come out more. Good luck and happy duck days!! :)

I have 2 a male and a female. Can someone tell me, at what age do they start laying, and do they lay daily? Mine are 6 weeks old
