Pekin Duck Club!

You've got to be kidding. That's a pool for the ducks. I want to come back as a pampered Pekin BYC pet

Ha, ha! No, that's the human pond... but I do let them go swimming with us.

The morning that pool was finally filled Nibbler just stood on the edge staring... he had this expression, like, am I dreaming? Is that all water?

Poor thing had been raised inside a bin in a classroom and thought the bathtub was some insane luxury.

He then took a flying leap in and zoomed back and forth for fifteen minutes.

Happiest day of his life :)

What a great Club!!! I have 12-week old Pekin's and I am always looking for information on them. Currently my Pekin's have a vernal pool but I know will dry out. Will the ducks harm this vernal pool at all?

I have a question. My fiancé found some wood duck eggs while working (he does tree removal) nd the momma almost got her head chopped off and took off. So we now have 8 wood duck eggs. My question is, would my pekin sit on the eggs? And incubate them or should I buy the necessary things to incubate?

If she was already sitting on them before she flew the nest it depends on what day they were on. Could you candle them? You could give them to your Pekin if she is broody right now. If not and they look like they are on day between 1-3 then you could go buy an incubator the next day.

If the mother was on them then you better hurry. How long since your fiance found them? It could be too late. If your pekin is broody already then she should sit on them if you put them under her.If shes not you cant force her to go broody and you will need an incubator.

My fiancé said she was sitting on them. They cut the tree down today. He's had them since this afternoon. Wrapped in a sweaty t shirt and he had them in our car. It got pretty warm today and since I've had them they have been sitting with my in my chair wrapped in a shirt. They feel pretty warm. I'm not sure how to candle them. What do I look for. And how do I know if my Pekin is "broody"?
