Just keep them warm and get an incubator... tonight if you can. Please save those beautiful babies!

This is embarrassing to admit, but I sat on Captain Nemo's egg until we got an incubator for him. He is only slightly screwed up

Go in your bathroom and turn the light off and hold a flashlight under the egg depending on how far along they are you will see blood vessels or the baby duck. If your pekin is sitting on a nest with eggs she is broody.

, thank you! I am excited. I looked up wood ducks and they are so beautiful. If I do happen to hatch some baby ducks will my pekins accept them? I don't know a lot about ducks at all.

Yeah! Hahaha! One of my friends had hers attack her! Haha

My female Pekin would lay eggs and kick them to the curb! When she died I grabbed her last one and stuck it in my sweatpants!!! Ha! I am crazy.

Haha! Your not the only one!! Haha. My incubator went out during a power outage and I had two goose eggs!!! Then I realized my Cochin bantam was broody and ran them out to her!! I thought I was a fool for forgetting that! Haha! But the geese have almost grown up now!!

Your welcome! Good luck and let us know how everything goes. My husband really wants some but we just don't have the space for them right now. Wood ducks are small, I'd be nervous with the pekin since they are large. Plus idk what kind of enclosure you have but they fly and they need a good bit of space. They need a lot of bushes and trees, like where your husband found them

You are so sweet... thank you. Building that pool was a nightmare but worth all the effort. We and the ducks are out there every day loving it. That particular rock was a big problem as it weighed two tons!!

Ok thank you so much, I am super excited and I cannot wait for them to hatch. I've read a lot that there are high mortality rates. I don't want to lose them. They are eggs and I am already attached. I also didn't know the size of the wood ducks. My pekins are pretty big. I will definitely post pictures. And updates thank you so much!
