Pekin Duck Club!

I have two little pekin ducks Edwina and Lillian they are only what I believe a few weeks old they both seem lovely and chirpy and eating crumb feed etc quite happily but now and again I see a leaky nose on thm both should I worry it's not consistent but I've tried to read up on this and I'm now diagnosing my ducks abit frantically could anyone help me with what this may be??...could it be something or nothing?? Thank you in advance

So our full grown babies are almost at an age where there should be some drake feathers showing, and we thought we'd sexed them properly but my boyfriend wasn't 100% sure. We thought we had 3 and 3, but now it might be that there are only 1 or 2 females. I'll give it a few weeks to see if they develop the nice curled drake feathers. They're just shy of 3 months right now.

I totally don't want to send some boys to slaughter so if it comes to that, are there any people on here looking for a drake? They are very sweet ducks, and we have seen 0 aggression from any and they are all nice and healthy.

so cute! you should be able to tell by voice and that is BEFORE the drake curls, the drake has a raspy voice, the duck has a full on quack like Aflac duck? i have a half dozen, 1 drake.. 5 ducks he is definitely different with his voice.

Question on egg laying my duck started laying last week but now no egg for 3 days but she maybe in molt as there are feathers everywhere is this normal an is it time for molt I palped her belly an I don't feel any eggs an she is happy an eating roaming the yard

so she's young? i find Pekin loose feathers all the time.. i am forever in a sea of white feathers... the egg laying, i had the same i got 1 then 2 then all of a sudden all 5 laid then a break for a few days it goes up and down that is normal, if the bird is acting normal all is likely fine, i saw a massive difference in egg sizing too.

As they mature they loose their "baby" feathers and get adult because Pekin are white you don't see the differences as easily as you do on a coloured duck.

All those woods are mine, we have a path that we mow half way back there, I just love the view in this picture.

Just some pictures of my ducks and my sebbie goose free ranging for their first time for a couple hours. Today I am going to let them out of their pen around 4 or 5:00 and see if they return on their own towards dark time, if they do they just might be ready to free range all day.

Lovely pics! and a Seb! ooooh so nice! i want one of those.. maybe next year.

My female removed another egg out of her nest today. We did see them mating yesterday so I for sure have female and male. But I am going to have to get an incubator. She has still not layed anymore eggs. Also I candled the first egg again today and you could see the outline of a chicken head with beak up against the shell but no movement and she has not touched it since she removed it. It is also turning a orange color on the outside.

When they remove eggs from their nest it usually isn't developing or good anymore. They have a sixth sense of that somehow. Yes, you might see a chick inside but it might have died or stopped developing. All part of nature.
