I'm new to ducks and am looking for advice! I just brought home 5 jumbo pekin ducks that are about 7 weeks old. They are being fed Meatbird Crumbles from Rural King as that is what the breeder was feeding them. We aren't raising them for meat, just as pets and for eggs. With that in mind, how much should I feed them? I'm afraid to following the instructions on the bag because I'm not wanting to fatten them up and have leg issues later on. Thanks for any help!!

Perhaps twice in a day.

She's a Crested Pekin! And yeah, she was in the shade and the light was just right,...Nice thing about digital photos, just snap away until your fingers hurt then only keep the good ones! ;-)

Maybe a mix? It doesn't look like he's standing like an Indian Runner. They stand very tall almost like penguins. I'm a novice though. Maybe someone else has more input?

My thoughts, too. Usually Indian Runners have a "straighter" looking spine than non-runners. And runners do stand tall - like your analogy to penguins. Alas, I am a novice as well and I could definitely be wrong, but it does look like a mix - not pure runner.

@Julie Bird We need to get you a couple of ducks, woman! I understand you can't have them right now. Is that because of where you live?
I see you living vicariously through the people and pictures on here, but if anyone deserves duckies, it's you! You have so much love for these babies!
