I got two pekin a rouen and a muscovy my two pekins wont mate and rouen is to small to mate with the pekin can someone help me undesrstand what is going on here seems that my girl pekin only wants to mate with the rouen why would she only want to mate with the rouen and not the boy pekin

Were they all raised together from ducklings? does the Pekin drake try and mate with the female Pekin? They do form close bonds with one another maybe if they were raised from duckling the Rouen and Pekin formed a strong bond. I think it's possible for a Rouen to mate with a Pekin especially if they were in a pool Rouens get pretty big too. I have seen my bantam roos mate my Large fowl hens.

I have a confession to make. I blew up the ducks. There are feathers everywhere. I change the water, it is full of feathers an hour later. I was told years ago that snow is really chicken feathers. Well, this snow is duck. And it is certainly a surprise! Most fowl wait until their second year to explode. And then there is the slow molt. Not as

Okay, if you are reading this, and you have never owned a bird, I am saying that the ducks are molting. And I mean they really "blew up"! I thought there was snow in the pen.
