Awe, sweet story that had a good ending. Whew. I am so happy that JoJo is putting on weight. Squeeze...This thread doesn't like me today. I keep posting, and it keeps deleting it.
Despite the fact that it was still pretty cold out, Duckling and I went for a walk. I grabbed her container of Cheerios (which happens to have a duck on it) and we went out. Guess who came to greet us? Two certain ducks that shouldn't have been out of their run. The dog said hi, and they didn't really react. Duckling was amused that they were out in the open, and still not running from her. She just isn't used to that!
I picked them up, and it feels like Jojo has put on some weight!Don't quote me on that. It does feel like it though. It makes sense with him eating his food again.![]()
I still don't know how they got out. The run is lightweight, and did look like it had been bumped (by me.). Regardless, it was a funny thing to see them, and a good thing I walked out when I did. They wouldn't have access to water, and I wasn't planning on going out again until Duckling gets up from her nap. The nice day, and the fact that this run isn't as secure as it used to be, has me convinced I should switch to a better run. I can do that soon, after the baby is asleep.![]()

Yup! That's pretty much it! I haven't figured out how the chickens were getting out of the turkey pen towards the end of summer. I hope I figure it out soon. That is where they are going back to in the spring. They have much more room, and fresh grass. It gives their run time to regrow a little vegetation. I may plant some grass in their run. The ducks ... They will either be in with the chickens (probably) or I will redo their run again so they too have new pasture.Quote:
I hope he put on weight, he needed too. When I would leave in the summer, I didn't want to put them back inside so they had a screen outdoor tent, u know the ones you can put a picnic table or what not inside to keep bugs away. Anyhow my dad and dh had it secured so nothing could get in or out. It was before lily but JoJo and charlie would always get out and actually back in. Thank goodness no predators and they never left the yard but he's a sneaky lil bugger! We tried to watch to see how he did it but never saw. The moment we weren't looking he would just appear! Boggles my mind!!![]()
Oh! The fact that Jojo ate a Cheerio from Duckling's hand didn't repost earlier.
