Pekin Duck Club!

YES, get some Niacin in her.  I would not put her in water yet.  Unless she's at least a week old..  I know the shoes were on for 3 days so not sure if she's at the week old mark yet..

research has shown HUGE improvements in the legs with the correct amount of naicin in them..

i thought the correct amount was 10mg PER DUCKLING PER DAY!! Boy, i have not been giving my ducklings enouth niacin. OK 100mg of niacin and you said in another post that you put 4 tabs of B Complex ea day also,? thanks again
P.S. she is 5 days old.

I put four tablets of vitamin b complex in a quart of water with poultry drench. because each tablet contains 20mg of niacin. So times that by four you got 80 times it by five you got 100mg. but if your also putting poultry drench in the water four pills and poultry drench should get you the amount they need.

Five days ok give her two more days the she can have her swimming lessons. It usually takes this long for them to produce there own oils to stay float otherwise there little fur sucks that water up like a sponge.

Make sure the water is warm and dry her Off Good when she's done don't want her to get chillie.

it looks like she is walking on her heels. should i take the shoes off? it has been 3 days.
I'd take them off @CyndiD doesn't look like they are helping. Just thought it was worth a try and like Lacrystol says they may straighten up by them selves.

Hey guys I have a quick question... All of my babies have hatched and are currently dry off in the incubator but I noticed one cannot lift his head... He seems really strong but he ends up on his back every time he tries to stand... Is there anything I can do to help him?

Could be wry neck. Look it up to see if it fits. The solution is vitamins.

Hey all! I have two baby ducks (about 10 days old), who seemed to be fine since I got them when they were three days old. I've given them daily baths and helped them dry off, they eat, sleep, poop. They seem fine! Today I came home and found one of the ducklings has a patch of feathers missing. I instantly thought the other had been picking off his feathers. I checked both of them for lice or mites because they seem to be itching a lot. But I also know they're new feathers may be coming in. Just need some insight this is my first time raising ducklings.
I don't think I would worry to much about it, it kind of looks like maybe the other was playing in the water and dripped some on her. She doesn't look like she's missing feathers but does have water spots on her feathers, to but for sure, take a hair dryer on low, and dry up those feathers and see if they come back to a normal fluff..
