Pekin Duck Club!

What are good traits about Peking ducks? I have four Swedish ducks already and am loving ducks. I am thinking of adding the mighty Peking what can I expect?

Hi,
I think the Pekins are less moody than the Swedish. We have 1 blue female 3y/o, 1 black female 1/yo and 1 black male age unknown as he was a rescue. The 2 females were hand raised just like the others and still don't really have a use for me. The pekins are a more friendly and although they do not seek out attention they do accept hugs. My Swedes always look suspicious of me, like they expect me to jump them, lol. Also our Pekins haven't ever gone broody, our standard is 4 or 5 y/o and the jumbo is 3 y/o. Both of them are steady layers typically most of the year for me with only a few weeks off and are content to drop the egg and keep it moving.

I tryed to candle eggs from my phone flash light today. We called all chicken eggs one exploded. Duck eggs look like there's nothing moving. They have 4 more days from when I took them based on. Before the ones outside hatch a new hatch on first.but it doesn't look promising we got none. Oh well maybe 1st will be a better litter.

Ok yall I need answers! My two ducks have been losing feathers but they aren't even a year old and the feathers aren't even fully grown.. I'm starting to get worried about this because they're losing more and more each day. I'm not sure exactly what I should do. Also they have a lot of watery discharge coming out of their nose along with some panting. Please help me!! These ducks are my babies and I'd do anything for them.

Could you upload photo's?
Can you get them to a vet?
Please describe what kind of water access they have.
What is their feed?
Other animals around?
Temperatures where you are?
Have they possibly gotten into something dead? Animal or plant material?
Has anyone been applying fertilizer or pesticides in the area?

it is very hard my 6 year old wasnts to hold them so bad but they jufight us on the hold part when we pick them up they wiggle so bad I am afraid that they will wiggle right out of our hands it scares me when they do it cause I don't want then to get hurt and it's a hard thing to explain to your 6 year old that he can't hold his duck and all he says is but I want to I love them mama.
That is so sweet about your 6 year old being so interested in them and wanting to hold them. What I love about that is he is so young and has the same needs we do to pick them up and snuggle them. We cannot help it. They are cute beyond words. Then throw in, soft and I wanna run screaming cuz I can't hold one.

I am so envious.  Look at those puddles of softness and warmth.  EEEEEEEE!!
they really are the sweetest and they love my .daughter
400
