Can I ask a really dumb question? How do you tell if your Pekins are male or female? I have two, one is a bit larger than the other and their calls are different. One sounds almost like a goose but neither "quack" persay. I haven't named them because I don't know if they are males or females!

How old are they? The one that has the loud goose honk is probably a girl. The boys have a raspy mumble grumble.

Are females usually bigger? When do they start to lay?

I got them around May 1, so they probably around 4 months old?

Dose any body know show standards on Pekings like in fairs I have two hens puddles and quackers I am going to show in the fair next year but I what to know what the judges look for. See how mine compare it would like to be add e the club to

DUCK EMERGENCY please help! One of my ducks she is a pekin seemed fine in the morning and today I checked on them and she is walking funny wings a bit opened and seems maybe like an egg is stuck??? I say this because she corners up and seems to put her butt down but just end up laying down! What can I do???? How can I see if it is a stuck egg or she ate something weird???
