How do you tell female ducks from Drakes? I ordered two females but i have heard that ducks are hard to sex, and I am putting the ducks in with my hens and rooster and don't want any fighting or cross breeding drake to hens. Hoping for two females, but how do you tell male and female apart?

Drakes will get a curl on their tail and have a raspy quack, while females don't have curls, but loud quacks

Their quack. Females are super loud Quackers and the males have a super quiet raspy quack. If you want another opinion post a video of them quacking and I can probably tell you

Thank you! So when i get them as ducklings, they will have raspy quacks or loud ones and i can tell then or do i have to wait and see when they are older? If i can't tell, i will post a video.

When they are ducklings they will just have baby quacks and peeps so you won't be able to tell at first, but as they get older like anywhere between 4-8 weeks of age you should know when you start hearing the females suppeeer loud quacks!! Lol they are so loud. The males on the other hand super quiet. Mine started quacking about a month of age and we knew the females from our male very quickly once they started talking

They really are the perfect duck. I actually don't have regular sized Pekin, but I do have one Jumbo Pekin hen, who has the sweetest, funniest personality.

Yes! They are quite large, but very cute.

Morning everyone , I'm new to the whole raising pekins. Oh my am I glad I decided to go with these 4 little turds. Super messy but super entertaining. They are a little spazzy but we are working on it. They are now just over 3 weeks old. I got them when they were just 2 days old and couldn't be happier. They are growing so fast.

Two weeks old here

And three weeks here, just about all their yellow is gone and white is coming in nice and fluffy
