Does anyone have a female Pekin duck they are willing to sell? I will go the extra mile. I had to have her sister laid away yesterday and she is lost and has no interest in the Muscovies. We are all mourning "Bonnie" but it had to be done. Long story short somebody dropped them off early one morning against the fence along my pond. I took them to the vet because one was hurt. Come to find out she had really bad arthritis. We kept her on pain medication but it just got worse. My guess they were sisters. But she is a very sad duck. I live Morrill, Maine. She will have a very good home for the rest of her life. Thank you in advance for your help.

I don't understand. The title says you want to re-home her but it sounds like you are looking for a companion. Can you clarify?
No, I'm looking for one. It's made to sound like the duck is asking for a good home. Sorry, I can see where that is confusing. I will try to fix that. When you read the article it explains the situation.

My duck acted that way when her two sisters were killed by a raccoon this spring. She didn't want to come out of her house or when she did she just stood there quacking like she was looking for them. She did snap out of it after a couple of weeks and has become extremely friendly to humans instead. She always ran away and struggled when caught before, but now she'll follow you around and sit down in front of you when she wants to be pet. So even if you can't find a good companion, your duck will hopefully cheer up eventually!

Thanks for your message. I know it's hard when something like that happens. I just can't stand to see her like this. I'm sure it will get better. Thanks

Go to "where am I where are you" and look up your state Maine and ask there someone close by may be able to help.

Very sorry for yours and hers loss
