The waiting. I've got rotating weekly hatches going on over here and I still have to stare at pipped eggs like I've never seen a duck hatch before. Two more little ducks have pipped! Took Chicks out, nothing more yet on first one. Anything new with you QJ?
I'd be tempted to put a paper towel or something else in there too. But I think I'd hold off because every time you open it, you lose humidity.I HAVEN'T ever saw a duck baby hatch! Only chickens lol I made my self leave for most of the day and went out and did yard work. I think humidity is a bit low 69% I filled both channels on hovabator and put a dish with a sponge. Should I put a wet paper towel in there too?Its only fair if hubby baby sits the bator lol
Great advice!I'd be tempted to put a paper towel or something else in there too. But I think I'd hold off because every time you open it, you lose humidity.
If it drops lower, then I'd go ahead and stick another sponge or damp towel in.
QJ? Your opinion?
Congrats!I did put a hot washcloth in there this morning and we have a duck!!! hatched about 2pm, 8 more and a Sebbie to go. humidity is at 81%
