Pekin duck tucking tail down

Hello everyone,
Looking for suggestions or any information on my male pekin duck he’s been tucking his tail every so often and seems fine, anyone know why??

are you sure that your duck is a male?
my female welshharleQuinn has been holding her tail down while she’s laying down.
She eats and drinks, but she lays away from the others in little hiding places like she doesn’t feel well, and yesterday she laid a poop that looked like soft lash material so I just started her on treatment for salpingitis.. I am concerned that she may be headed for a prolapse because one of my other ducks was acting similarly and did have a prolapse which turned out very badly because the other birds attacked it so now I’m being extra careful and I have this one in a private pen while she’s being treated

It almost looks like an injury have you examined him?

It’s just him and his brother and it doesn’t do it all the time just every so often he tucks it down

If he is acting normal in every other way eating drinking foraging interacting with his brother maybe it is just a quirt with him. I just can't imagine what it could be and since he only does it every so often, Some things are just baffling. Oh does he do the tail tucking when walking or just when standing still?

Just when he’s standing still and then usually after he’s done tucking his tail he will lay down for a few minutes and then be okay again so I’m thinking maybe he’s sore or something.

Check his vent area out to make sure everything looks normal. And his poop is normal and not having any problem pooping.

Everything is normal around his vent, I have been doing Epson salt baths and he will be fine for a bit then tucks again so I’m not sure maybe he’s sore…

I wonder if he has an injury but seems he would be doing the tail tucking all the time unless the pain isn't always there.
