Pekin Duck

Hello I have 1 pekin duck, 14 weeks old. she is fairly friendly minus not wanting to be handled, until today. I let her out and was spraying her with the hose which she loves, she then kept walking to me and laying her head on the ground and body and let me pet her, as soon as my daughter walked over she would chase her away, neck still low when running as well, then she would come back to me. I feel like shes suddenly territorial of me? is this normal ?

That's what it sounds like. I think you have become her "heart's desire." Maybe you should post on the duck thread before she gets too hostile to your daughter. Or maybe your daughter should start hosing her down - so she will like her also.
