Pekin duckling sneezing

does it have a water dish deep enough for it to dip its head in it might have some food lodged up there and the water will help

I change out their bedding every day so it shouldn't be moldy. I had wondered about the dust though. It appears to be eating and drinking just fine. I haven't heard it sneeze since I posted this, but I'm pretty sure I heard it sneeze once or twice over the last few days.

Sometimes they get something in their little nares - keep watch, I know my Runners will act like their are sneezing with their bills pointed down near the bedding - they are telling me they want treats.

I can appreciate that - I remember my nerves being strained at the thought of all that could go wrong. And if I had not been aware, I think we may have had some losses early on. We did lose two Runners after they had matured. I think Drei either had egg problems or hardware disease (no vet at that time), and we know Neun died of egg yolk peritonitis, as we had a necropsy done.

So there are some things we cannot always catch. But I know people with ducks that are 8, 9, 10, up to 12 years old.

I hate losing any kind of animal. I lost a chick yesterday, and I wasn't very happy. It had the worst case of pasty butt I've ever seen. I got it cleaned up, but it still didn't make it.

Sorry to hear that :( Pasty Butt is not fun. I had a bad case one time, swabbing olive oil on vent area often helped a lot. She did end up making it but was behind growth wise for awhile
