Hello everyone, Well just about an hour ago I was actually candling the fertile pekin duck eggs that I have in my incubator and all of a sudden.....I see a little speck of the egg crack. A very small piece cracked, But I was sure astouned on how it all happened. I was holding up the egg and that is when it happened out of no where...LOL

Anyway it looks like they are going to peck at the air sack right?
So in what position do I leave the eggs in. Should i leave them on the largest end of the egg or another position?

I am not hearing any pips, and have not seen them move( i have inside but not the whole egg)
so what is the estimate of when they might start fully hatching?

Well i would appreciate the help. thank all all and God bless!

Most of the ducklings I have hatched have taken at least a full day to hatch after first pip, sometimes (usually) two days! I layed mine on their sides, but I was hand turning anyway, so they were already on their sides. I noticed with mine when they would pip internally that I could see a yellow part on the inside of the air cell.

I CANT BELIEVE IT!!! I see one of the eggs has a nice little crack and there is a little beak coming out!!!! I AM SO HAPPY MY FIRST HATCH!

I havent heard any pippin but i see that this duckling is already wanting to come out....do they always pip before they come out?

Well cant wait till later on the progress....then ill post up some pictures!

Can't wait to see the pictures!

Your first hatch is ducks! Awesome!!!! I've heard they can be more challenging to hatch I plan to try them though to see if I can do this challege hehe! Congrats on the pipps!

Okay soo one of the ducklings had already broken a part of the shell, like a little hole I can see its little beak poping out but that was yesterday now I dont see any difference right now.....also doesnt it have to use its beak to break all around the shell first?

Well I would like to assist but please give me your opinions before I do anything wrongly.

Thank you and once they hatch i will post pictures!
God Bless!

OKAY one of my ducklings hatched!!!!

The first one that made the hole is still intact dont know why but should I assist?

Once they all hatch I will post some pics!

I wouldn't help, it might sill be absorbing the yolk and resting. The first one to pip seems like its always one of the last to zip and hatch. Just try not to open the bator.

Hello guys, thanks soo much for your help!
Well I have PICTURES!!!!

All four of them hatched so I am very pleased!

One of the ducklings has a right eye that that stays a little closed...is this permanent or is it still recovering from the hatch? Is there something I should do or could do?

Well thank you!
