I would not think so, but just remember that until they get all there feathers, they cannot swim very well. If there (down)feathers, soft feathers get saturated they will sink. That is what happened to my female pekin when I got her....I would have to save her from the pool!! But just make sure that you have something in the water for them to get out on,,,,,I have a concrete block and slate pcs. inside our pool and then a concrete block on the outside for them to get in and out with. And if the chicky's get in there they also have a way out!
