Pekin Ducks

Haha well I hope I didn't get two males, that would be the pits. Okay here is another question. I have them in a huge chicken-wire pen with a net over the top (nothing can get them). They have been outside for a couple weeks now and I just worry about them getting too cold. like they don't seem to go inside their house at night. I mean its not a huge deal as far as predators go but its still cold like low to mid 20's at night and they insist on staying outside! I would assume that they are smart enough to go in if they get too cold. I know that they go inside at some point as they have been eating their food. do I just keep letting them do their thing? we are gone on the weekends a lot so I don't have the ability to herd them into their duck house every night.

Also their drake feathers won’t come in for a few more months. The feathers in your pictures are their adult feathers coming in. They all look flimsy and curly at first. But it isn’t the same as a drake feather. You should be able to tell by now what they are. If they are still peeping, they are most likely males.

Yes they will go in when they are cold. Pekins get hot very easy. So weather being cool is probably a good thing.

Thank you! I have been so worried since they aren't even fully feathered yet! (5-6 Weeks) our winters here are crazy cold and snowy so wanted to make sure I didn't need to worry! It snowed here two days ago and they were out in their yard napping in it lol.
