Pekin hatching problem

Yep, they get very GREEDY and sharing is not in the books, it's more like I WANT ALL OF THEM...LOL,  although it's great when you have TWO of them because when one leaves to go drink or eat, the other one will get the I WANT ALL OF THEM attitude so the eggs are constantly warm.. LOL

That is so nice to see them hatch/set as a team. but one is designated as the mom and the other is the aunt? that is what it looks like. my one f/w is keeping the ducklings company and lays with them under the heat lamp while mom sits on eggs. but today mom got off the pipping (2) eggs and got out of the nest/pen are and I think she got confused and couldnt get back in so she stole my chocolate runners nest and eggs. the choco runner was just standing in the middle of the duck house, crying when I walked in. i put every one in their places/nest.
I dont drink, but I sure got a pop after that. they are driving me crazy. the f/w also had all 8 ducks out of their pen area 2 times today and couldnt get back in, so they were causing trouble again!!

I turned them 5 times a day and misted/ let cool for 5-10 minutes 3 times a day.

Hum maybe to much on the misting, Is there a reason why you let them cool? I have never let mine cool, honestly I don't see the point, in my opinion I feel that it only delay the hatching. Momma ducks will bury there eggs and they do this because One they are protecting them from preditors and TWO to insulate them so they can take a stroll to get some food and to take a dip..

When I got my first duck eggs (parents of these) I was told to do it. And I have read the same on BYC. I know the latest was on the Goose Incubation and Hatching Guide here on BYC. I will try without the cooling next time.

I am just finishing a 2nd duck hatch. This time it went off without a hitch. I have 7 out of 8 out and the 8th is zipping. I did not have to help any of them.

Also had 2 goose eggs in with them. Did not expect them to hatch but had to try. 1 of them has a pip. Very exciting. All going right this time round

Here is the difference between 3 week old duckling and 3 day old. Simply amazing how fast they grow.

Goodness gracious what a difference 3 weeks can make. Gorgeous ducklings. Keep us updated on the goslings.

One goose egg hatched last night....I have a gosling. The other goose egg has a pip since yesterday morning, maybe will hatch today. Hope so, I need the bator for Saturday and still need to clean/ disinfect.

Patti, I couldn't either, at first. then i just tap and hold the http:/ and opened it in different tab. this worked for me.
