Pekin ready to butcher?

    How can you tell? Mine are a few days short of six weeks but still have quite a bit of brown on their cheeks and breasts.

    can you post some pictures? pekins don't have brown on them. the best time to butcher ducks is when they are 8 weeks old and there are no more downy feathers

    Yes I will snap some pics and post them today, but your reply prompted me to do a little research. It seems the clerk at Rural King made a mistake and gave me runners instead of pekins. Oh well.
